The Heaed Museum

Today was so much fun and very enlighten. The children and I and our Existed little Gods Family went to the Museum... All 7 children jumped in the van and talked the whole way there i don't re call them stopping to even take a breath all we heard was "YAY!," Set Back.." move.. "no you move. When we got there as soon as you walk in they had all kinds of crafts laid out for the kids! they just ran with pure joy! The Native Cultures and arts were gr8 the children made a little of everything. "the Heard Museum is housed in a lovely Southwestern style building surrounding an open courtyard. Their main focus is the art and culture of the native people of the area. The collections are beautifully displayed, with very good labeling and accompanying explanations. There are excellent free public tours throughout the day. There is an outstanding exhibit of the boarding school experience of many of the Native Americans, enlivened by photos, films, and recordings of many of the former students. There are many interactive exhibits here -- not just old pottery. The Indian School exhibit is emotional, as well it should be. You can become educated about the 20+ tribes still living in AZ (who knew there were so many different ones)! I must say for me after viewing all this it left me kinda mad the fact that a people could just strip a group of people of their culture just sickens me! On another note the children loved the IndianHoop Dancers afterwards they headed out ice cream that totally got things hype. After the show we went in the court yard so the children can through rocks in the water Omg! you no amani had to do something a little nasty she stared drinking the water out of this nasty water fall the water was a light green. After drinking the water i took my eyes off her for 10sec. (Big NO NO!) amani jumped rite in she was all wet!!! for the rest of the tour..over all it was lovely we were there for over 3hrs by the end of the trip they were all a bit restless therefore the ride home was a little up tight dada didn't want to be touched. Amani didn't want to sit down Deavon wouldn't stop talking Shakur was sleep and i was hot lol! just another day with my little gods out in about!
